The Finger Lakes are a favorite spot of traveling geese. There are times the honking is so loud you can’t have a conversation outside.
I think I was spoiled in Northwest Ohio. It seemed to be the restaurant chain proving ground. Here in Central New York, everything within range is a diner… which isn’t a bad thing. (Wendy’s and McDonald’s are a 45 minute round trip.) Lunch yesterday was in an amazing historic home converted into a restaurant.
Changing of the leaves is a beautiful time in Central NY. The mountains burst into color.
The grandmother of a friend passed away. She posted a picture of her grandparents with the caption: “They eloped 3 times, because her parents kept getting the marriage annulled. They were married 75 years.” Wow. Talk about commitment and dedication! Epic love stories are built on those kinds of beginnings.
